Prophetess A’Besa Hodge
Prophetess A’Besa Hodge is the First Lady of The Bethany Church where her husband, Bishop Jeffery L. Hodge shepherd’s the ministry. Prophetess Hodge was born to the parentage of Gloria Dennis and Nathaniel Rhodes on April 5. She was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and Fort Worth, Texas; but has lived most of her life in Fort Worth, raised with her two siblings, Tony and KaJuana.
Lady Hodge attended and graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1989, she then furthered her education by attending TCJC and Prairie View A&M.
Growing up she attended Riteway Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor Henry Stafford). Her mother made sure that her and her siblings stayed involved in church, but after she was old enough to make her own decisions, she strayed away from church, because she was CHURCHED OUT!!!!! That didn’t last very long because Abesa knew that her life was headed for Destruction.
When she decided to go back to church, she began to visit Bethany Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor B.R. Hodge) where she became a member, rededicated her life and was re-baptized.
The late Pastor Hodge would always encourage her not to quit church, so she began to go to Bible Study, Single’s Ministry and Sunday morning service, not to mention every Revival that was held at the church (You See My Glory-But You Don’t Know My Story). She needed all the word that she could get to stay Saved.
Lady Hodge became very active in this Ministry and served as the Usher Board President while at the same time, working with the Youth Ministry. She was also very active in the Junior Mission.
Through this Ministry she met (Bishop) Jeffery L. Hodge (the grandson of B.R. Hodge). His life, like Lady Hodges’ was headed for Destruction until they began to build a closer, personal relationship with God. They had so much in common that they became close friends and later began to date. In April of 1998 they were married. Together they have four beautiful children: Lacharele, Jajuan, Keandre and Xavier.
Prophetess A’Besa Hodge answered the Call of God into Ministry in February of 2001. She is a faithful Prophet/Preacher, Wife and Mother. Not only does she work side by side with her husband, Bishop Hodge, in overseeing the day to day functions of the ministry, but she is also the Women’s Ministry President at The Bethany Church.
She has a heart for women, both young and seasoned and desires to encourage them to love themselves, because they are all DIVA’s (Destined, Intelligent, Virtuous, Angels). She is also extremely passionate for the youth of today. She is a gifted Encourager and Motivator with a burning desire to see the lost come into the Family of God through Jesus Christ!!!
On June 12, 2010, Prophetess Hodge completed her studies at the DFW Bible College with her Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Theology.
Prophetess Hodge is encouraged by Paul’s proclamation in Philippians 3:13-14;
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus!!!
